This is a blog of two parts: One half is open to the public, and is mostly Dail Fail rants; time wasting quizzes and conversational "what I done what's been fun lately" pieces, with the occasional topical diatribe thrown in for good measure. The private half of my blog is more about what's up with me and my RL friends and things that are bothering me, or topics on which I haven't yet formed solid opinions.
Do feel free to read the public bit and if you'd like to know more then add me and I'll try and repay the favour.
As for me, well I suppose that almost everything irritates me at one point or another; but eventually I tend to have an epiphanies and realise that it's generally my short sightedness and not the person/factor behind the irritation causing the problem.
I'm easy going and relaxed, quick to jest but generally pretty ascerbic. I like to use the english lexicon to its fullest extent, it's good for us all to stretch our minds.
I am fiercly independant and am proud of my achievements, but not in an excessively pushy American sense, more in a stoicly British light/bushell-interface sort of way.
I adore people and conversation, and am a genuine believer in the maxim that every person has something to teach that is worth learning.
I am at times patient beyond the limits of sanity, and at others petulent and unpleasant for no divinable reason.
I am passionate about my degree in Parasite Biology, but not always in a positive manner.
The people that I love and care about matter more to me than anything in the world.
My musical tastes range across continents, decades and genres, but I have a pecadillo for loud basslines and improbable frontmen.
I have a penchant for horrendous novels that use alternate timelines and dragons to the fullest, I put this down to a need to escape from the mind-sapping drudgery of scientific journals.
I really really dislike willfull ignorance and repeated typos. If you don't know how or why something is as it is, or even if you don't know how to spell a word then please have the self respect to look it up and find out. Knowledge should be a joy to collect, and with the advent of 'the internet age' it's never been easier to find out. That said I'm more dyslexic than a leprechaun born backwards, so y'all have a head start on me.
